The Cal Alumni Club of Southern Nevada is the Cal Alumni Association’s chartered alumni chapter in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. Today, CAA represents nearly 485,000 Cal alumni living throughout the world, and the Las Vegas metropolitan area is home to over 4,300 Cal alumni. In September 2005, the chapter originally named the Cal Alumni Chapter of Las Vegas, was founded by UNLV Prof. Dan Asera, senior class president of the Class of 1969, a Cal Alumni Scholar and a Golden Bear Life Member of CAA.
Cal alumni, students, family, and friends visiting Southern Nevada are welcome to attend any of our local events.
Membership Information: To become a member, pay your annual dues, or make a donation, please contact your chapter president.
Las Vegas Visitors: Cal alumni, students, family, and friends visiting Las Vegas will receive room rate discounts and coupons at various host hotels and other business establishments. Please contact the chapter president for details.
Our Events & Activities: Leadership and scholarship awards for Nevada high school seniors who will be attending Cal; athletic event viewing parties at local venues; an annual New Student Reception in April to recognize local high school seniors admitted to Cal; a Summer Welcome Party honoring new Cal students; recognition of outstanding local alumni accomplishments; cultural and educational events; regular networking mixers; and career services.
Events for 2019-2020:
Networking Mixers: Starting in August of each year, get better acquainted with your fellow Cal alumni in southern Nevada at various new venues in Las Vegas. Recent mixers were held at Miller’s Ale House in Town Square and The Capital Grille at Fashion Show Mall. Joining us will be the Stanford Club of Southern Nevada and other local university alumni clubs.
