CAFA Project

Cal Armed Forces Alumni Mentorship Program

The overwhelming majority of undergraduate student veterans come to UC Berkeley as transfer students from California community colleges.

A great way to ensure your success is through the Starting Point Mentorship Program that partners you with a Cal Veteran who recently transitioned from community college to UC Berkeley themselves. Through this program, you can learn about the additional services available to Cal Veterans on campus and in our community, and get a better sense of the vibrant student veteran community here at Cal.

For current community college veteran students who wish to apply to Cal, please visit the Starting Point Mentorship Program website for the application and more information.

Any Cal alumni (veteran and non-veteran) are encouraged to volunteer with the Cal Armed Forces Alumni for Equity and Inclusion (CAFAEI) by joining our email list to hear about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities to recruit and mentor community college veterans to apply to Cal.
